…The next morning we packed up our gear and made our way to the Arkansas capital. An hour later we were in downtown Little Rock looking for a place to park.
The building was empty give or take a few employees and two guys in dress clothes walking laps at a fast pace on the second floor for exercise.
We walked into the gift shop where we got our stamp and found our cheapest coffee mug yet. But in the end it actually cost us the most money. Stay tuned. The gift shop lady was very nice; she asked us where we were from and how many states we had visited so far. She had visited a lot of the capitols and let us know that the Arizona capitol was not worth visiting and New Mexico’s was interesting as well. We thanked her for the information and exited the building, talking about all the fun and interesting people we had met so far.
From Little Rock we made our way to Jackson, Mississippi, with a stop along the way to do some very-urgent-work-that-could-not-wait-another-second.
A Coke, a couple of Grandma’s cookies, and at least an hour later we were back on the bike. We crossed the Mississippi River which was a sight to behold. I knew the Mississippi is quite large but didn’t realize just how big it really is until we crossed over.
We Yelped a really good BBQ restaurant for supper. The best potato salad either of us has ever had! Then we headed to yet another coffee shop so RJ could work and I could sip coffee.
After a couple hours of coffee drinking, we drove several miles to LeFleur’s Bluff State Park where I set up the tent in the dark amidst the mosquitoes and bugs. I fell asleep rather quickly even though it was a little humid. RJ planned out the following day and stayed up for a couple hours to work.
